Surgery

WCEC is fully equipped to perform an array of surgeries in South County's only Equine Surgery Suites.  We are particularly proud of Dr. Schaefer, who is Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

All surgery cases are hospitalized with continual technician care and monitoring.

Categories of surgeries that can be performed at WCEC include (but not limited to):

  4. Fracture repair
  5. General soft tissue surgery
  6. Laceration repair
  7. Neonatal abdominal surgery

  10. Septic joint therapy
  11. Tendon sheath therapy
  12. Upper airway surgery
  13. Sterilization (castration, spay)
  14. Selected standing surgical procedures
